“Education to Nature: Pathways to a Stronger, Closer Family (E2N)”

Milieukontakt International Albania is implementing the project: “Education to Nature: Pathways to a Stronger, Closer Family (E2N)”, financially supported by Regional Development Programme for Northern Albania.

The project is implemented in the frame of the established partnership “Northern Green Partnership” composed by the Commune of Kastrat, Milieukontakt Albania, the Commune of Shkrel and Association for Protection and Preservation of Nature Environment in Shkodër.

Overall Objective of the project is to provide everyone with possibility to acquire knowledge and skills appropriate values, attitude and dedication in order to protect and improve environment and nature resources.

Specific objectives:

- To empower the environmental and creative learning capacities of children through activating and acquainting them with their natural environment and methods to protect it.

This project’s aim to raise children awareness and understanding on environmental issues, fostering positive attitudes and encouraging child-led environmental actions.

- To create environmental awareness of community by involving them in ecological projects to preserve and live in healthier environment.

The project will increase awareness of communities bringing into their attention the environmental issues linked with education of young generation, ecotourism and economic activities for future development of the area.

Beneficiaries:

17 9-years schools, 1700 children and 150 teachers of the area,

  • Local authorities of Kastrat and Shkrel;
  • Students of Shkodra University,
  • business sector entities,
  • Inhabitants of Kastrati and Shkreli Communes,
  • tourists and visitors during the touristic season.

 

Expected results:

1. Establishment of eco-camping in Bajza.

  •    One “ Information and education Centre“;
  •    One “Natural museum” functional during the whole year for teachers and chlidrens to conduct extra curricula hours.
  •    One “Economic facility” where children can learn how to cook healthy food

2. Enhance awareness, knowledge and skills needed to make decisions that affect living quality by working with school children, teachers, community and other key stakeholders in region

3. Increase sense of community pride and provide a positive setting for children to spend quality time together, learning and reinforcing behaviours that will benefit them as they develop into adults and responsible citizens.
